Apparently, Dr. Muhammad Yunus’s Press Wing wasn’t set up to communicate with the public — it was set up for international tours, shiny new iPhones, and endless bootlicking disguised as “public relations.”

The unelected and illegal head of Bangladesh’s so-called “interim government” has personally approved the purchase of six brand-new iPhone 16 Pro Max devices — the very latest in overpriced technology — for six of his loyal press officers.
Because, of course, nothing says “national crisis management” quite like handing out luxury smartphones at public expense.

The beneficiaries of this sudden tech windfall include Deputy Press Secretaries Abul Kalam Azad Majumdar and Apurba Jahangir, Senior Assistant Press Secretary Foyez Ahmed, and Assistant Press Secretaries Ashrafa Imdad, Suchismita Tithi, and Naeem Ali.
All handpicked, all rewarded handsomely — for a job that apparently consists mainly of fabricating press releases and endlessly praising a regime no one elected.

A leaked memo circulating widely on social media shows the entire charade in black and white.
According to the document, the six officials are “entitled” to the iPhone 16 Pro Max “in accordance with the policy” — and naturally, this was “graciously approved” by the “Honourable Chief Advisor” himself.
Because who needs elections, when you have Instagram?

Meanwhile, Bangladesh burns.
As violence, arson, and political assassinations rage across the country, the priorities of the regime are crystal clear: suppress dissent, polish the image of a tottering regime — and make sure the communications staff are armed with the very best smartphones money can buy.

Reform, indeed.
